Benjamin Platt

Ben Platt is Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman-Sigal, where he leads the office’s relationships with city, state, and federal partners. He previously served in the New York State Senate as a Legislative Director and Legislative Fellow, working on landmark legislation including Medical Aid in Dying and Francesco’s Law. Before that, he was an Operations Manager at Oonee, working to provide free, secure bike parking for New York City. He is passionate about multi-modal travel around the metropolitan region and appreciates the critical importance of mass transit to Manhattan’s economy and way of life.

Ben is a former member of Manhattan Community Board 7 and a proud resident of the Upper West Side. He holds an M.A. in Global Affairs from Tsinghua University, where he was a Schwarzman Scholar, and a B.A. from Williams College. He is an alum of Stuyvesant High School.
