Riverfest in Yonkers, Saturday, September 7
Noon to 5:00 PM
Join us for a tour of the beautifully renovated Yonkers Train Station with a local historian. This 1911 Beaux Arts-style gem, designed by the Grand Central Terminal architects, Warren and Wetmore, will be open during Riverfest for tours hosted by the MNRCC. Come meet the MNRCC members, help build a model train with your kids, and enter for a chance to win a trip to Grand Central Terminal with lunch and a tour. Afterwards visit the Daylighting of the Saw Mill River and the Philipse Manor historic site, then spend the day at Yonkers’ Riverfest. See the Press Release here.

1PM- Historic Train Talk and tour of the station
2PM- Historic Train Talk and tour of the station

4PM- Drawing for family daytrip.
Daytrip will include round trip Metro-North tickets for a family of four to Grand Central Terminal, four passes for the Official Grand Central Audio Tour, and lunch for four in the Grand Central Terminal Food Court. Enter the drawing anytime during the day of September 7 at the Metro-North Railroad Commuter Council booth. You do not have to be present to win.
Founder’s Day in Brewster, Sunday September 15
11:00 AM to 4:00 PM
During this year’s Founder’s Day festivities, the MNRCC will host presentations by the Putnam County Historian who will give two different talks on Metro-North Railroad’s impact on Brewster. One will be held at the Southeast Museum (where “The GCT Exchange” exhibit is on display) and the other at the Walter Brewster House. Come meet the Council, help build a model train with your kids, and enter for a chance to win a trip to Grand Central Terminal with lunch and a tour!
