Kara Gurl
Planning & Advocacy Manager
Ms. Gurl is a lifelong New York City Transit rider with a background in communications, advocacy, and urban planning. She joins the PCAC with expertise in developing and implementing strategic communications strategies, digital outreach plans, and grassroots advocacy in and around New York City government. Previously, she has researched and written about the benefits of congestion pricing, the cost of low transit ridership, and increasing community participation in the planning process. Ms. Gurl has over 8 years of experience in advocacy and organizing on her Community Board and on local, state, and federal political campaigns. She received her undergraduate degree in Urban Studies from Columbia University and a Master of Urban Planning degree with a specialization in Transportation from Hunter College.
