At the April NYCTRC meeting recently appointed Senior Vice President -Subways, Carmen Bianco, spoke of his experience and his hopes for the future of NYCT. Mr. Bianco joined NYCT in February with 33 years of experience in transportation. He served as Assistant Vice President for System Safety at NYCT between 1991 and 1995. Bianco has also held similar senior level safety positions at Amtrak and New Jersey Transit. He also served as the Acting Vice President of Operations at Amtrak.
Mr. Bianco now oversees the operations of the subway system and is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of NYCT’s 5.2 million daily customers. Bianco indicated that he wanted to set priorities to meet the vision of NYCT’s leadership and work to provide the best customer experience possible. He noted that there will be a restructuring of NYCT, streamlining programs efficiently, safely and within budget.
