COVID-19 Crisis: The MTA Needs at least $4 Billion in Federal Funds

PCAC and region transit advocates echo MTA Chairman Pat Foye’s request for at least $4 billion in federal assistance for the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Emergency operating support will be needed –  the MTA is the nation’s largest public transit system, accounting for 38% of all public transit trips in the Unites States, and is the lifeblood of our region’s economy. Without these funds the MTA will struggle to provide access to jobs, education, healthcare, and other opportunities.
