Long Island Rail Road Commuter Council Elects Leadership

On May 9, 2019, The Long Island Rail Road Commuter Council (LIRRCC) held its election of officers for terms extending through May 2021. Mark J. Epstein, who represents Suffolk County on the LIRRCC, was unanimously reelected Chair, and Gerard P. Bringmann, who represents Suffolk County on the LIRRCC, was unanimously elected Vice Chair.

Mark J. Epstein is the managing partner at the law firm of Pazer, Epstein, Jaffe & Fein P.C. He is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association, Nassau County Bar Association, and American Association for Justice, and sits on the Board of Directors of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. He has been selected as one of NY’s Super Lawyers for eight years running and has been named The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 lawyers for eight years running. He is a member of the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce, The Huntington Lawyers Group and The Long Island Association (LIA), The Jewish Lawyers of Nassau County and is a graduate of the Suffolk County Police Department’s Citizens Academy. He lives in Melville and commutes on the Ronkonkoma Branch.

Gerard P. Bringmann is a Project Superintendent in Interior Renovations. He has served on the LIRR Commuter Council since 2001. Mr. Bringmann is a vital part of the council in expressing the commuting experience to senior LIRR management. He previously served as the LIRRCC Chairman for four years and was the 2nd Vice Chairman of the Permanent Citizens Advisory Committee to the MTA (PCAC). He is a daily commuter on the Montauk Branch from Patchogue since 1982.

We look forward to continuing and increasing our efforts to speak out for riders and to working tirelessly to improve conditions for LIRR riders and build a stronger, responsive and expanded transportation system.” said Mr. Epstein.
