MTA’s 13pt plan will help riders feel safer by keeping them safer

The MTA is rolling out a 13-point plan to address COVID-19 concerns and ensure that riders not only feel safe in the transit system, but are safe by using best practices, cutting-edge technology, focused security, and distributing masks, hand sanitizers, and the continuation of enhanced cleaning.

Monday will be a test for the entire system as NYC moves to Phase 1, and as the rest of the region prepare to move to Phase 2. Additional service and enhanced – and continuous – communication will be key to helping riders return. Our transit system is essential to our region’s, and nation’s, recovery.

While we’re all looking forward to getting on with our lives and back on the system, we’ll respect that it remains for essential and Phase 1 workers. When we do get back to riding, we’ll be wearing our masks and following appropriate guidelines, and urge all riders to do the same.
