The following statement can be attributed to MTA Board members and Rider Representatives Andrew Albert, Chair of the New York City Transit Riders Council, and Gerry Bringmann, chair of the Permanent Citizens Advisory Committee to the MTA and chair of the LIRR Commuter Council:
“We believe Governor Hochul’s congestion pricing pause is reckless and illegal. The MTA’s infrastructure is worth a staggering $1.5 trillion dollars and is invaluable to the millions of riders who depend on it. Maintaining Governor Hochul’s congestion pricing pause while simultaneously identifying more than $30 billion in additional funds to invest in the MTA’s next Capital Plan will be next to impossible for the Legislature. We fully support this and other litigation aimed at resuming congestion pricing. Governor Hochul must follow the law and unpause the pause immediately.”
