Dante Arnwine
Dante Arnwine (he/him) serves as the District Manager for Brooklyn Community Board 9, representing the neighborhoods of South Crown Heights, Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Wingate and portions of North Flatbush. He is a strong advocate for working families and connecting people to their government.
Dante started his career as an AmeriCorp interning at the New York City Department of Homeless Services. He went on to serve in constituent services for NYC Council Member Francisco Moya in Jackson Heights and Corona, where he worked to improve the quality of life for residents and small businesses in one of the most diverse immigrant communities in the world. He then worked in constituent services at the NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development’s Mitchell-Lama portfolio. Through his own personal and professional experiences, Dante can speak firsthand to injustices in the justice system, the lack of access to healthy food education in black communities, the scant resources and opportunities available for individuals with intellectual or physical disabilities, and the intersectionality of being black, male, and queer.
Dante currently lives in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville and holds a master’s degree in public administration from Rutgers University. He is an Eagle Scout and avid sports fan.
